SMELL / AROMA: Fruity, fragrant

Cultivated (crop) blueberries have become a fruit we can see in every shop in recent years, but not wild (forest) blueberries. The latter prefer cool, damp climates. At low latitudes they grow in shady, mountainous areas that are difficult for beekeepers to reach. At high latitudes they also grow in lower altitudes, which is why blueberry honey is more likely to be obtained here.

This honey is rare, as beekeeping conditions are often unfavourable at these latitudes. It is a fragrant, fruity honey that remains liquid for a long time. It is one of the Scandinavian honeys obtained from various species of the Vaccinium genus.
