Goldenrod is the generic, popular name for a genus comprising several dozen species. Most are native to North America and Eurasia, but they are widespread over wide areas of the Globe.

Goldenrod honey is medium intense, with a slightly pungent odour and a citrus (tangerine) aftertaste. It is a very light-coloured honey that crystallizes finely, to a creamy texture. It is less common than other Central European honeys, perhaps because it is harvested during late fall, when beekeepers usually leave the honey in the hive so that the bees should have enough food for the winter to come.
