Italian Sainfoin (French honeysuckle) is a species of the Fabaceae (legume) family native to Italy and Spain. It grows wild or is cultivated as forage in much of the Mediterranean Basin.

Italian Sainfoin honey is mainly found in Italy. It crystallizes quickly in medium crystals. It has a mild, slightly floral smell and taste. The flavour is slightly floral too, not very intense. It is an ideal honey for those who do not like intensely perfumed, strong honeys.
