When imagining wheat fields, we automatically think of the blue and red colors of the poppies and cornflowers growing among the ears. Although cornflowers are very common in May and June, they compete with many other melliferous plants, so it is not easy for beekeepers to find a reasonably high concentration of cornflowers to obtain monofloral honey.
Cornflower honey is not common, either in Romania or the rest of Europe, but rather scarce. It is fragrant, strongly flavored and has a slightly spicy aftertaste. It crystallizes finely, turning to a lighter color.
