Japanese knotweed, also called Asian knotweed, is an invasive plant, native to East Asia (China, Japan, Korea), introduced to many other temperate zones of the Globe and seen as a highly invasive species.

Japanese knotweed monofloral honey is quite rare. It is harvested in late fall, just before the onset of winter. This type of honey is very dark in colour, almost black. It is almost odourless, very sweet and with a very mild flavour. It remains liquid for a long time, with a medium viscosity.
