Rubus chamaemorus is a plant that grows at very high latitudes, especially in tundra and boreal forests. It is a member of the Rosaceae family. In Europe it is found over large areas in Scandinavia and northern Russia; and somewhat smaller areas in the Baltic countries and northern Scotland.

Cloudberry honey is very rare because of the latitude at which the plant grows. As bees do not leave the hive when it rains or at temperatures below 13-14 degrees Celsius, the weather conditions for producing this type of honey are difficult to meet. It is an extremely fragrant honey, with a spicy aftertaste. It remains liquid for a long time. It crystallizes finely.
